Best Self Emptying Robot Vacuum and Mop
If you're looking for a two-in-one machine that automatically empty its own dust bin and mops the floor without your involvement take a look at this great alternative. It also has several mapping features and Alexa integration.
This robot is expensive however, it's great at cleaning up dust and spills. It comes with the latest technology to avoid obstacles and can be placed in areas for mopping or vacuuming.
1. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
This robotic vacuum and mops combines an attractive design with the latest robotic technology. Its powerful smartphone application helps you to manage routine maintenance such as emptying its dust bin and cleaning the mop's pad between uses. It is also able to dock at a self-emptying base that automatically empties and cleans it after every cleaning cycle. It's the only robots that can offer these features at a premium price, and has did well in our tests.
Roborock has revamped its S8 Pro Ultra from last year's model, with a focus on improving the vacuum's object avoidance and increasing its cleaning power. The result is an improved, cleaner and more reliable machine. It has a more powerful suction motor, and dual rubber rollers on its floorhead. This makes it more effective to remove debris and pet hair from carpets and floors. Its battery is now able to run up to 180 minutes and supports scheduled charging to reduce electricity costs.
The robot's RockDock Ultra docking stations are the most significant change. They go beyond emptying and clean their contents after every cleaning cycle. It also cleans the mop pad and then dries it using warm air. It also refills its water reservoir. This feature sets it apart from other mop cleaners because it decreases the amount of time and effort needed to maintain it.
The S8 Pro Ultra comes with an easy-to-use configuration. You'll require access to Wi-Fi networks to download the companion app and pair your docking station to an additional mop pad. Now auto emptying robot vacuum to clean.
In our tests we found that the S8 Pro Ultra picked up the most surface debris and embedded dirt on carpets of medium pile as well as unfinished floors. The S8 Pro Ultra's cleaning power is a bit short of our top choice Roomba's iRobot Roomba J7+. However, it's still a versatile and capable machine that is definitely worth a look.
The app lets you create a 3D home map in which you can designate no-go zones, and schedule specific cleaning times. The app displays the running records of cleaning times and coverage of areas and lets you view the performance of each room and area. You can even assign a different cleaning mode to each area. If you own an Echo device or other smart speaker, you can also add voice control via Alexa or Google Assistant.
2. iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba j7+ from iRobot is an excellent option for those seeking a self-emptying vacuum that also mop. This model uses iRobot's Imprint Smart Mapping technology to create an outline of your home, which means it can clean up your home in the most efficient manner possible. Dirt Detect helps the robot focus on areas that are more dirty, and Reactive Sensor Technology helps it to avoid obstacles.
The j7+, as with other iRobot products, can be programmed to begin cleaning when you're away from home and stop if it's not finished. It can be controlled via the iRobot app or via Alexa and Google Assistant-enabled smart speakers. It responds more quickly to voice commands than the majority of other robots, including the $599 Neabot NoMo N1 that self-empties.

The iRobot Genius App allows you to control the robot using a the remote or your smartphone. It is also easy to set up the j7+ and modify other settings. It can even guide new users through an onboarding process that will aid the robot in understanding their home and map out its space for cleaning.
The j7+ comes with an extra-large dust bin than many of the other self-emptying robot vacuums that we've tried. It can hold more debris but you'll still need to empty the bin every seven to eight months (or more frequently if you have pet hair or massive debris). iRobot provides filters and bags that can be replaced.
Another nice feature is the j7+'s front camera, which is advertised to help the robot recognize hazards such as pet waste and power cords and stay clear of them. The camera is not as effective in low-light conditions and you might be interested in a competitor with a better camera, like the Roborock S7 MaxV.
I was also happy to see that when docked, the iRobot J7+ will automatically empty its dust bin into Clean Base Automatic Dirt disposal. This is a significant improvement over most competitors which require you to open manually and empty the dust bin. This small change will make your life easier and less stressful.
3. Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni
The Deebot T10 Omni is a sleek robot that delivers impressive cleaning performance. It has a 5000Pa suction, and is equipped with dual-sided brushes and floating brushes to remove dirt from corners and hard floors. It has a robust battery that powers both mopping and vacuuming and can return to its dock if it's low on power. Its smart features also include a home-map, 3D mapping, and automatic cleaning schedules.
Similar to other Deebot models, the T10 Omni uses an additional cleaning tank to wash and dry mopping pads in order to prevent cross-contamination. The T10's cleaning tank is capable of holding up to 4L of clean water, which will cover approximately 400m2. It has a special design that allows it to fill and drain without touching the pad or getting wet.
One thing that makes the T10 apart from other robot vacuums is its advanced mapping technology, which creates a precise three-dimensional map of your home's layout. This allows the robot to identify obstacles more precisely and alter its direction, increasing the overall efficiency of cleaning.
The ECOVACS app is simple to use, and offers a variety of customizable settings. It's only downside is the absence of the remote control. This might be frustrating for some.
The T10 OMNI is excellent at cleaning pet hair. It was able to remove the majority of the hair from my carpets after two cleaning cycles, and was even able to navigate around some furniture that was blocking its route.
Although it's not as hands-free as the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the T10 Omni is an outstanding option for anyone looking for a self-emptying robot mop and vacuum. Its mops are just as powerful as its vacuums, and it comes with an appealing design than the Roomba. While it does not have a remote control, the T10's smart capabilities make up for this omission. With the app, you can quickly start and stop a cleansing cycle. You can also schedule it and alter the settings of your device.
4. Shark ION Extended
Shark's top-of-the-line self-emptying robot vacuum The ION XL is an excellent choice for people looking for hands-off cleaning with a high level of performance. The vacuum comes with a large bin that can hold a month's worth of dirt. It can be set up to empty the bin at the conclusion of each cleaning session for long-term storage. The ION XL robot vacuum is one of the most versatile available. It can clean carpets as well as hard floors. It can be controlled via an app or voice commands and you can even create an outline of your house to clean every room on demand. The robot can also do an excellent job of maneuvering around furniture and can even move through stairs and fully-carpeted rooms with ease.
I tested the ION XL with our standard test for debris in a family space and kitchen with hardwood flooring and area rugs. It was excellent at vacuuming and clearing pet hair, debris and even some of the more difficult to remove carpet crumbs. It was also excellent in getting around my barstools and didn't hit them as the iRobot j7+ did in this test. The only issue with the ION XL is that it cannot detect cords, shoes, or toys within its path. You will need to clean your home before you start this robotic vacuum if you want it to avoid them.
The ION XL robotic cleaner isn't as sophisticated as the iRobot j7+, but it's a great alternative if you don't want to spend more than $500 on a robot. It's better than the RoboVac 11S, in many ways. It's easier to maintain and has lower costs for recurring maintenance. It's also superior at cleaning floors with no carpet and removing pet fur, but not as effective on low- or carpets with higher pile.
It's not as sturdy but it's still a solid option. The ION XL is a powerful machine with a large capacity bin. It can be controlled by an app or voice command and is easy to maintain. It's also a great price.
